Qoof Founder Speaks at “Video on the Net” Conference in Boston

November 11, 2007 – Richard Kligman, Founder and CEO of Qoof, recently spoke at the “Video on the Net” Conference series held in Boston.

The topic of the Conference was ‘Making Money in the Video Ecosystem’. A variety of speakers addressed the challenge of generating revenue in the highly competitive video industry. Other invitees of note included panel host Anton Denissov, the Yankee Group; Todd Dagres, Spark Capital; Brad Inman, TurnHere; and Rebecca Paoletti, Yahoo, Inc.

Mr. Denissov stated that there are four main ways to create revenue from video - advertising, sell-through, subscriptions, and video on demand / rentals. Richard maintained that advertising is relied on far too much and brings too little return. Particularly for those with products to retail, sell-through is the most practical solution, but it has to find a real-world method to make it effective.
